FAQs

  • I currently offer virtual therapy sessions for clients anywhere in Oregon, including Portland, Eugene, Bend, and surrounding areas. Telehealth allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your home or another private space that feels safe to you. Starting at the end of this year, I will also be offering in-person sessions at my cozy office in Multnomah Village, Southwest Portland. This option is ideal for clients who prefer face-to-face connection or want to blend in-person and virtual therapy for flexibility.

  • Yes. I am in-network with:

    Aetna

    United Health Care

Regence BlueCross BlueShield - starting 11/15

If you have a different insurance plan, I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients choose this option if I’m not in-network with their plan.

  • Payment is collected at the time of service through the SimplePractice client portal. Accepted forms include credit or debit cards, as well as HSA/FSA cards.

For insurance clients, your copay or deductible is automatically processed once your claim is submitted.

  • Life happens — I understand. I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments are billed at the full session rate.

  • The first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, your background, and what you hope to gain from our work together. It’s a relaxed, supportive space — there’s no pressure to share everything right away. Together, we’ll start identifying your goals and what healing and growth could look like for you.

  • There’s no set timeline for therapy. Some clients find short-term therapy (8–12 sessions) helpful for specific goals, while others choose longer-term support for deeper exploration and sustained change. We’ll regularly check in on your goals and progress along the way.

  • You may notice small but meaningful changes — feeling less overwhelmed, setting healthier boundaries, or responding differently to stress. Growth can be subtle, gradual, at times, uncomfortable. I’ll check in regularly to ensure therapy continues to meet your goals.

  • Yes. When working with teens or young adults, I collaborate with parents and families as appropriate — always honoring the client’s privacy and autonomy. Family involvement can help support lasting healing and growth.

  • Yes. I specialize in treating eating disorders and disordered eating for teens, adults, and families across Oregon, including Portland, Eugene, Bend, and surrounding areas. My approach is compassionate, inclusive, and grounded in the principles of Health at Every Size® (HAES) — recognizing that healing can happen at any body size, shape, or weight.

I support clients navigating anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, body image concerns, and chronic dieting cycles. I also work with individuals who may not meet full diagnostic criteria but struggle with food guilt, body dissatisfaction, or feeling disconnected from their bodies.

My work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), alongside mindfulness, self-compassion, and HAES-aligned care. I aim to help clients rebuild a peaceful relationship with food, movement, and their bodies — free from shame, restriction, or judgment.

Whether you’re beginning recovery, stepping down from higher levels of care, or seeking ongoing support, Rise & Thrive Therapy offers a safe, affirming space for healing that honors your body and your story.
